CLAUDIA SCHANZ RUSSELL

Claudia Schanz Russell is the founder of the law firm and has been self-employed since 2004, freelancing as an attorney, trainer and mediator. She is a Certified Specialist for International Commercial Law. She has gained her expertise by studying law in Tuebingen, carrying out her apprenticeship at the district court of Ravensburg and getting a post-graduate degree in conflict resolution techniques at Pepperdine University School of Law in California (USA). Before starting her own business she worked at Dornier GmbH (now Airbus) in Friedrichshafen. She is a member of the Centrale for Mediation and the German-American-Lawyers-Association.
EMPLOYED ATTORNEY-AT-LAW AND COMMERCIAL MEDIATOR (DHBW)
After her legal studies in Tuebingen and her apprenticeship at the disctrict court of Stuttgart, Germany, Mrs. Elben has been admitted to the bar in 2002. She has extensive trial experience and has proven very effective in escalated negotiations between contractual parties. Sonja Elben has intensified her skills in employment and labor law by successfully passing the specialized lawyer qualification. Her extensive work experience in this area has been supplemented by her training as a commercial mediator at the Cooperative State University of Ravensburg, Germany.
After her legal studies in Constance and her apprenticeship at the district court in Ravensburg, Germany, Mrs. O’Connell worked as a corporate counsel in an automotive company and later as a legal counsel in a large health care center. She has a lot of experience with contract design as well as with contract management and she offers professional legal advices for our clients in case they are having difficulties with their suppliers or customers. We do benefit from her expertise and her longtime working experience since March 2016. Her passion for linguistic interpretation is also shown in Mrs. O’Connells activities as an author and publisher.
OFFICE ASSISTANT AND ADMINISTRATION
Nicole Aschentrup’s original professional education resulted in her degree as a travel agent and she has lived in various areas of the world. With her language skills as well has her organizing abilities she supports our daily work by structuring and controlling the office activities. She is also responsible for making appointments and organizing locations as well as time tracking and docket administration.
She works in both English and German.
Arzu Özkan is a professionally trained Legal Assistant. After learning the English language at the vocational college (Berufskolleg), she has gathered valuable job experience in law offices in Lindau and Ravensburg as a paralegal and office administrator since 2014. Her main focus in our law offices lies on client communication, coordinating the legal matters within the firm, overseeing court proceedings and collecting debt on behalf of our clients. She also controls the statutory attorney compensation and case file management. Coinciding with our main focus of business, she is currently advancing her career by studying to become an economics business administrator in order to bring even more expertise into guiding our clients’ legal matters.
SARAH SCHAUFLER (currently on maternity leave)
LAW OFFICE ASSISTANT
Due to her language skills as well as her professional education in administration at the German Federal Employment Agency, Sarah Schaufler is responsible for the office management in our law firm. She supports Claudia Schanz Russell in contract management, carries out editorial document editing and independently prepares document translations. In all her responsibilities she performs swiftly and reliably in both the English and the German language.
